NeedKaro provides NeedKaro through real local discovery, serviceability checks, and customer-to-business connection flows.
This Privacy Policy explains what information NeedKaro collects, how it is used, with whom it may be shared, and the rights you have over your information. NeedKaro is a local discovery and connection platform that helps you find and connect with nearby shops, services, and businesses. This policy was last updated on the Effective Date below.
1. Information we collect
Account information: when you register, we collect your name, email address, and an optional mobile number, along with a securely hashed password.
Location information: with your consent, we collect the area, mohalla, city, or GPS location you select or share. This is used to show nearby results and to check whether a business can serve you. You can change or clear your location at any time from the location bar.
Usage information: we collect the actions you take on NeedKaro, such as searches, pages visited, needs you post, listings or reviews you create, bookings, and connection requests.
Business and seller information: sellers and businesses provide their business details, service areas, product and price information, and, where needed for verification, KYC details such as PAN, GSTIN, or bank account information.
Communications: we keep the content of feedback messages and customer-to-business conversations needed to operate and support the service.
2. Sensitive data
NeedKaro does not collect Aadhaar. PAN, GSTIN, and bank account details are encrypted at rest where seller verification is enabled and are masked in all user-facing and admin responses.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to operate NeedKaro: to run search and discovery, verify location serviceability, manage your account, enable customer-to-business connections, host listings and reviews, provide seller tools and analytics, detect abuse and fraud, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.
Aggregated usage data may be used to improve rankings, recommendations, and the overall experience, without identifying individual users.
4. Third-party services
Cashfree: subscription payments for Premium and Ultra Premium listings are processed by Cashfree. When you make a payment, the payment details you provide are handled by Cashfree under its own privacy policy; we do not store your card or bank payment credentials.
Google Analytics 4: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It collects anonymised usage statistics under Google’s privacy policy.
Maps and location data: location coverage and scenery data draw on OpenStreetMap. Weather and air-quality widgets are powered by OpenWeatherMap and WAQI. These providers receive only the coarse location needed to answer a request.
Infrastructure: we use hosting and cloud service providers to run and protect the service. They process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.

5. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share the necessary contact and service information with the customer, the seller, or the business to complete a discovery or connection request you initiate. We may disclose information to infrastructure providers or to authorities where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to enforce our policies.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely. Backups are retained for the recovery periods required by our hosting providers.
7. Your rights
You may access, update, or correct your account information from your account settings. Subject to applicable law, you may also request deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where you have given it, and request a copy of the data you provided. We will respond to such requests within the timelines required by law.
Some information may be kept where law requires it, for example billing records connected with a payment.
Invitations and referrals
If you choose to share an invite, NeedKaro records the inviter, sharing channel, a privacy-protected landing visit, signup attribution and whether the new member completed a meaningful action. Invite URLs contain a random referral code and never contain account IDs, phone numbers or email addresses. Landing protection uses a rotating one-way identifier; raw IP addresses and browser details are not stored in invitation records.
NeedKaro does not scrape contacts or upload your complete contact book. On supported devices, contact selection begins only after you tap the contact option, is limited to the contact you select, stays in your browser, and opens your device composer for your review. Nothing is sent until you choose Send. You may block your invite link or report abuse at any time.
Email invitations remain disabled unless NeedKaro has a legitimate provider, verified sender domain, bounce handling and unsubscribe suppression. If enabled later, they will require confirmation, be limited and use one-way recipient identifiers for duplicate prevention and suppression.
8. Children
NeedKaro is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
